Awaiting me off the plane were gracious Rotary hosts, Jim and Jean Hatfield. One of the first lessons learned about England is that we actually speak an entirely different language. We sorted through these differences over biscuits (cookies) and tea.

When I did move in, it was good to see that some things are the same. While there isn’t a Target, the major supermarket does carry bedding. And in the five minutes they helped me move into my flat (apartment), the police gave out a nice parking ticket.

On first impression, England seems to have a lovely mix of similar differences.
